Strong new additions to Digital and Healthcare practices

Zurich, 15 February 2012. Burson-Marsteller has added two new proven specialists to its team: Matthias Lüfkens as Head of the Digital Practice, and Dev Rakshit as a Senior Consultant in Healthcare & Science Communications.
Burson-Marsteller, the leading global communications agency in Switzerland, has announced the following new additions to its team:
Matthias Lüfkens joins Burson-Marsteller from the World Economic Forum (WEF) as the new head of the Digital Practice in Switzerland and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In his most recent post as Associate Director and Head of Digital Media, Matthias Lüfkens was responsible for WEF’s digital strategy, including its website and social media channels. Under his leadership, the WEF became the leading international organisation using social media networks. He is a regular speaker at major technology events such as LeWeb in Paris, Lift in Geneva, the Next Conference in Berlin, and SIME in Stockholm. Matthias brings many years of experience in radio, TV and print journalism, having worked for titles including the Daily Telegraph, Libération, Agence France Presse, Radio France Internationale, RTL Radio, France Inter, Radio Canada, and RTBF. Matthias is fluent in English, German, Italian and French, and conversational in Russian and Lithuanian.
Dev Rakshit joins Burson-Marsteller’s Healthcare & Science Communications practice as a new Senior Consultant. He will work alongside Toula Stoffel in the growing healthcare practice, both in Switzerland and the EMEA region. Dev Rakshit has more than twenty years’ experience in global branding and corporate communications, strategic marketing and advertising, mostly gained from the pharmaceuticals and consumer goods industries. Among other things, Dev has been Global Brand Communications Manager (Neuroscience Franchise) at Novartis and Head of Strategic Marketing & Branding at Swarovski. In addition to his communications experience, Dev has a solid background in science, including six years clinical research experience from the medical technology industry in the EU and United States. Dev has a PhD in chemistry and an MBA from City University in Washington. A native English speaker, he is also fluent in German and Swiss German.
